  • The Street: Wanganui 1900-1920
  • A collection of twelve A3 size photographs of Wanganui around 1900. Has accompanying information sheet plus a copy of Athol Kirk's book on Wanganui street names. For primary students. $20.00 plus p&p.

  • Great Expectations: Whanganui 1839-1848

    A collection of information and research material on Whanganui for the period 1839-1848 including an oral history tape.  Covers the Treaty of Waitangi, conflicts over land and the life of early British settlers.  The teacher’s guide includes lesson plans and research assignments suited to secondary students.  $30.00 plus p&p.

  • Te Waonui o Tänemahuta / Plant Life and Bush Lore

    Discover medicinal and  other uses of trees and plants.  Learn to identify some of the most  common plants found around Whanganui.  Photographs and  background information are included in this resource.
  • Transport

    A collection of A3 size photographs of Wanganui transport around 1900. From waka to aircraft.  For primary and secondary students.
  • Ngä Manu: Birds of New Zealand

    A kit relating to the extensive Museum bird exhibition and  collection.  Includes a mounted bird, bones in resin, nest and other items for display.  The teacher’s guideincludes background information, suggested lessons and student activities.  Books and video and audio tapes are included.

All kits are available for hire by schools in the Whanganui region for $20 for a maximum of four weeks.
